Hello peeps!

It's me again Steph.  This week's blog is going to be short and sweet.

Well my second week at The Soft Brick Company was better and busier than the first.  I was live on the phones dealing with customer enquiries, dealing with incoming web orders, updating the customer database just to name a few of my tasks.  Towards the end of the week I was answering the telephones like a true pro!

What a busy bee I have been and I can honestly say, 'I LOVE IT!'  I just can't wait to see what next week brings.

Hello.  My name is Steph Nolan and I have just started working at the Soft Brick Company as a Sales Co-ordinator.  I thought I would share some of my experiences with you as I settle in to my new role .  Hope you enjoy...

Day One at The Soft Brick Company and I was nervous to say the least. It had been a long time since I had worked in an office environment and it was daunting, but I was up for the challenge and ready for the change. I reported to Simon Ward who showed me to my desk and introduced me to everyone. The team soon made me feel at ease and made me feel very welcome.

After my induction, Lorraine Robinson thought it would be beneficial for me to spend a little time in the factory to learn how the process worked.

She then decided we were going to make something. "What?"

"Yes, let's make a .....Caterpillar Rocker."

After about an hour of extreme care and concentration and a lot of precise cutting, my pieces were ready to be passed on to be 'stitched' and 'stuffed'. How exciting!!

"We'll come back on Thursday once the foam has been delivered and see the finished product." Lorraine informed me.

The remainder of Monday and the majority of Tuesday to be honest was spent listening to the maestro, Nicole Warriner at work. Listening to how Nicole dealt with different enquiries and different customers was a great help. I also spent time on the company's database, learning how to navigate my way around the system.

On Wednesday Simon took me to Little Monster's Mayhem in Irlam which was extremely useful. I met with Juliette, the owner and she talked through why she had decided to open a soft play area and all the processes she had to go through before actually opening, which was helpful.

I then spent time within the play structure getting up close with the actual product, and not only learning about the products we design and install but also being able to see the care, quality and detail that actually goes into every aspect of what we do. Amazing! I also met a few tiny friends along the way who showed me how it was done!!

Thursday was again an information learning day, so much information to take in. I spent a fair bit of time finding my way around the website and in particular our Online Shop.  I did not know you could buy soft play products   24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Awesome!

Still no sign of Charlie - the name I had given to my Caterpillar...... Apparently I am no good at cutting! My little caterpillar will not be transforming into a beautiful butterfly any time soon. GUTTED! He didn't even make it past quality control. So don't worry peeps, there's no way he's up for sale.

So Friday, the end of my first week and WOW what a week it's been. Like I said, so much to learn about Soft Brick and the industry as a whole, but what I've seen so far, I can't wait to get my teeth stuck into the role.
